Disneyland Holiday Minisite
My Role: Lead Flash Designer
Full flash minisite used to promote Disneyland’s Holiday event. The site looked amazing and really brought out the feeling of Disney magic.
Challenge:
Very condensed time schedule. I worked as the main Flash Lead and as the main Flash Designer / Developer for the project. The site was very media heavy and was a great challenge for loading and unloading content. The site also needed to integrate with the broadcast TV and print campaigns. It also uses geo-targeting for special offers and implements some pretty heavy tracking for both English and Spanish sites. We also needed a Spanish version and the ability to change the Special Offers based on the users IP address.
Solution:
We used video special effects to light up the scene and for the homepage animation loop combined with snow built on a particle engine. We also used a multi-plane environment to achieve the sliding effect between sections and panels. The event dates and park hours were handled through a special data feed and the the countdown clock used special logic for before and during the event.

My Role: Flash Lead, Flash Designer, Visual Designer:
I worked closely with WDPRO team to help develop flash media like interactive flash maps, ship itineraries, trip excursions and special offers. On the site we’ve implemented some special flash pieces like geo targeting for special offers and a 3d virtual tour of the ship. I’ve been through several generations of the Disney Cruiseline site and have worked on a variety of different cycles of homepage experience.
Challenge:
Developing a flash media player for images, video, swf files and 360 tours. I also worked as a Flash Creative Lead and as a Flash Designer / Developer for many of the interactive media spaces on the site.
Solution:
A hybrid site of flash and html. I helped develop and design the majority of the flash media on the Disney Cruiseline website. The team developed AIR applications to help build the interactive maps and help on the Virtual Tours. We also implemented a backend CMS making it easy for producers to update content and keep the site up to date with new copy, images, video and interactive media. I’ve also created animated flash movies and flash media experiences for new events like the launch of new European cruises.

My Role: Flash Lead, Flash Designer, Visual Designer
I was specifically responsible for interactive media that fit within the main flash media player. I’ve created page takeovers, animations, interactive media for special offers, navigation prototypes and media player application prototypes.
Challenge:
Developing a flash media player for images, video, swf files and 360 tours. I also worked as a Flash Creative Lead for smaller projects that fit into the main media container.
Solution:
Development of flash modules that are easy to reuse and stand alone projects for signature events and seasonal attrations. Everything needed to pass multiple review cycles with many business units creating a creative challenge to satisfy business goals with Disney enthusiasm and attention to detail.

Oversaw clothing design concepts, website design and development. Directed and conducted interviews and photo shoots.
Challenge:
Creation of Big John identity, internet presence, documentary and product line.
Solution:
I created the Big John Gear clothing line to be sold through a custom built online store, product concepts for UFC equipment and the official website. I also shot backstage documentary footage featuring George ‘Rush’ St. Pierre, BJ ‘The Prodigy’ Penn, Tito Ortiz, Matt Hughes, Sean ‘the Muscle Shark’ Sherk and announcer Joe Rogan. Most of the work never saw the light of day but I loved getting to work with the UFC, the fighters and the various MMA organizations.

I worked with the film producers to create the creative vision behind the web project and used elements of the film to build the minisite.
Challenge:
Promote a short film about a young boy’s coming of age, provide non flash users access to the press kit and trailer. The site was an introduction into the story and a sneak peak into small elements from the film.
Solution:
Creation of an interactive full-screen flash minisite. The site navigation uses a yellow walkman from the film and the panning shot going beneath the earth are both pivotal elements of the film. All the site elements from the sound control to the toy tractor also appear in the film. For this particular project I started with a HTML splash page with options to view the trailer or download the press kit in an html version for users without the flash player installed. The clients were ecstatic with the end product.
